emotional jealousy
rocknrollgirl asked:

::for the guys::

i have a really good guy friend that i’ve known through church for years. we have no emotional history whatsoever, have never liked each other or been considered anything more than friends.

my boyfriend and i have been together well over a year and a half and are planning to marry eventually. neither of us have ever cheated, nor do either of us have emotional attachments to anyone. whenever i talk about my friend, however, my bf will get quiet and doesn’t say much, like he doesn’t want to hear it. even if it’s a simple story, not anything to be jealous about.

i’ve asked him how he feels a couple times and he denies that he’s jealous or intimidated by him… GUYS, how would you want your gf to confront you about this? how should i word it, what should i say, so that he won’t be offended, but at the same time, be open to telling me? we have a very honest relationship, we tell each other everything, so this is killing me!!
thank you everyone who answered my question. i feel more confident talking to my man about it, and i’ll be sure to do it soon. :) thanks!
