ofcourse he will be jealous but he will get used to the other dog if he is a male buy a female so he dosent feel over powered.. if you have a female buy a male.just pay attention to both of them.. dont let one of the sleep inside and the other not.

labs are generally friendly with other dogs unless trained to be hostile. i used to have a lab and he was fine with any other dog that we puppy-sat.
you could try puppy-sitting a friend's dog when they go on vacation and see how your dog reacts; if he reacts well then getting another dog will probably go over well with him.
as long as you don't pay more attention to the new dog, i don't see any reason for the lab to have jealousy issues.

it depends...

last year i got a new Cavapoo [cavalier king charles poodle]. I already had 2 dogs for 5 years before...A Lhasa Apso and a Shitz Tzu Maltese mix....i didn;t think there would be any problems but there were...it took about 2 weeks for my old pups to get used to [and not jealous] about the new one

but now they are best friends
